About the Event

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is hosting events this month to share information on their Interim Early Action Proposed Plan that will address Mercury in groundwater below the Cell Buildings Area at the LCP Chemicals Superfund Site.

At the information sessions, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency staff will be available to:

  • Answer questions about the proposed action; 
  • Provide information about what they are proposing, what alternatives they considered, and the basis for their preferred cleanup plan; and, 
  • Share a timeline for the next steps.

Interested individuals can drop in for as long or as short as you like during the dates and times listed below.

  • Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 2 to 6 PM
  • Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 10 AM to 2 PM

A public meeting will also be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Zion Baptist Church, 3200 Gordon Street, Brunswick, GA 31520. Click here to find more information about the public meeting. 

Glynn Environmental Coalition staff and Technical Advisor, Frank Anastasi, will be available throughout these events and the public comment period to help the general public understand this critical step in the Superfund decision-making process.
