About the Event
Ben Carswell and Yank Moore of the Jekyll Island Authority Conservation Department will discuss, in depth, historic changes that have occurred on both sides of Jekyll Island. They will explain multiple hydrologic alterations surrounding Jekyll Creek from the 1800's through today. This will also discuss the historic connections of both Mud and Latham Rivers to Jekyll Creek and how modifications to both have affected the system. The story of the “Johnson Rocks” will also be told from the 1960's to recent rehab work still in progress, along with future aspirations.
