About the Event
Become a citizen scientist by getting certified as a Chemical Water Quality Monitoring Volunteer! The Chemical Monitoring workshop is designed to teach volunteers about basic stream water chemistry and how to conduct chemical tests using hand-held field equipment. The basic set of tests that volunteers are asked to conduct includes dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, and temperature. Advanced tests may include alkalinity, phosphate, and nitrate-nitrogen. This workshop will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at The Chapel, 114 Harris Farm Road, Brunswick. This workshop has a 10 person maximum so please make sure to register. You can also participate in the Bacterial Water Quality workshop this same day and location from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM to be both a Chemical and Bacterial certified volunteer!
