Current or recently expired Adopt-A-Stream volunteers are invited to PART ONE of this recertification workshop for Chemical Water Quality Monitoring! 

Registration is limited so RSVP as soon as possible. Also, be sure to:

  • RSVP for PART ONE of this recertification event in addition to RSVPing to this event. PART ONE of this workshop is the virtual classroom portion which will be held via Zoom on September 28th from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. You must participate in both the virtual classroom and the lab event to be able to receive your recertification.
  • If your availability changes, let us know as soon as possible so that we can open up the slot for another volunteer.
  • This is a recertification workshop only, if you are not currently a certified volunteer you will not be able to attend.

The Chemical Monitoring workshop is designed to teach volunteers about basic stream water chemistry and how to conduct chemical tests using hand-held field equipment.  The basic set of tests that volunteers are asked to conduct includes dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, and temperature. Advanced tests may include alkalinity, phosphate, and nitrate-nitrogen.

All CDC guidelines regarding social distancing will be followed, masks will be required for portions of the workshop where participants will be within 6-feet proximity of each other.
