Air Quality

A community's public health begins with clean air. Conversely, public health inherently fails in the absence of clean air. Advocating for and measuring air quality is a foundational objective for many GEC initiatives, including monitoring the compliance (or lack thereof) of local industries with federal, state, and local clean air standards.

The Environmental Protection Division and the Glynn Environmental Coalition are conducting paralleled investigations into persistent and harmful air quality impairments being reported by Glynn County residents.

You can take action!

1. Filing a complaint*

  • Take some notes before you file your complaint.

  • Date, time, approximate location, wind direction, temperature, narrative description of odor, did the odor cause any immediate health issues (headaches, nausea, vomiting, coughing, difficulty breathing, etc).

  • Contact Brett Berry with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division

  • Include us in your email, This will allow us to continue to better advise residents and continue our internal investigations.

  • If you chose, you can also copy our local state representatives (listed below) or City/County elected officials.

*Note: If you prefer to remain anonymous call or email our office to let us help you file a complaint anonymously.
