We need your help!  Please report flooded homes and properties to the GEC at 466-0934.  Increasingly in Glynn County, we are seeing wetlands and even cypress swamps being subdivided into home lots, filled and developed.  In an effort to warn buyers and take development pressure off of our wetlands, the Buy Dry Land campaign was launched last November.

   Wetland development is a threat to not only our natural resources, but to every homeowner and taxpayer in Glynn County.  When homes are built in wetland they flood or cause flooding of nearby homes and businesses, which raises flood insurance County-wide.  When unwise development was allowed in the Savannah area, the homes flooded and had to be purchased at great expense to taxpayers.  The recent boom of building in wetlands and swamps has left Glynn County in a similar situation.
