Brunswick and the Golden Isles have a number of
environmental hazards, known as hotspots, which industries and government
officials will work on cleaning up in 2008.
The Georgia Environmental Protection Division's
Hazardous Site Inventory includes 14 sites in Glynn County. They range from
abandoned industrial sites, like the Linden Chemicals or Plastic plant (LCP)
on Ross Road, to existing industries like Hercules, Inc. on Cook Street.
Plans are underway to clean up most.
